Working an Event: Jamie Laing Meet and Greet

Hello lovelies!

Sorry for my absence from blogging.. I've been super busy recently with work but promise to try harder :)

I thought I'd do a slightly different blog today about an event I worked recently. As you know, I used to work in Cosmetics, primarily in events which involved organising makeup events and hosting giveaway's and competitions. I've really missed that part of my old job so when one of my lovely friends asked me to help out with a meet and greet event I jumped at the chance.

So the evening started with Jamie arriving almost an hour late, but as he drove from Chelsea down to the South we let him off! :)

Upon waiting for Jamie to arrive, I didn't really know what to expect. I have watched the show since the first series so knew what his character was like on MIC, but was interested to see if he was the light hearted, cheeky chappy he portrays on the hit E4 show Made in Chelsea.

There were over 700 screaming girls ready to meet Jamie so when he arrived we had to sneak him into one of the meeting rooms. We had about half an hour to pick his brains about MIC and what it’s like to be born into the McVitie Empire. Jamie told us all about his life in Chelsea and how he’s living with his friend and fellow cast member Andy Jordan, not to mention some super juicy gossip about the show, but I won’t ruin it for you :)

The DJ was downstairs warming up the overly excited girls so it was nice to take some time to have a cocktail and a chat before all of the madness, not to forget numerous selfies :)

At 22:00 we took Jamie onto the stage where he answered some of the DJ’s questions, he seemed quite shy and not as confident as some people might think.

Next we moved into the meet and greet section of the bar. Some of the girls had been queueing for 4 hours to meet him so we made sure they got a lovely picture with him. The time we spent taking meet and greet pictures is a bit of a blur, we had 700 girls who all wanted their picture with him so it was pretty full on taking all the girls iphone’s and cameras for a snap with the Chelsea star.

The evening ran really smoothly and Jamie was a really good sport. It must have been hard work for him having to pose for hundreds of photo’s in the baking hot bar but he remained charming and fun throughout the whole event.

Thanks Jamie!

Gossip Girl Butterfly Stickers

I've been obsessed with Gossip Girl and Serena Van Der Woodsen ever since I can remember and have always wanted to buy some of the 3D butterfly stickers she has on her bedroom wall at Blair's House..

http://www.beddinginn.com/product/Hot-Selling-Pure-3d-Beautiful-Butterflies-12-Piece-Wall-Stickers-10946334.html

So I was super excited when I finally found a company called Bedding Inn that sells them, and for a bargain too at just $10.69.

http://www.beddinginn.com/product/Hot-Selling-Pure-3d-Beautiful-Butterflies-12-Piece-Wall-Stickers-10946334.html

My friend's and I always quote Gossip Girl and it's an ongoing joke we have so I think these quirky  butterfly stickers with be a perfect Christmas present for them too. You can position the stickers wherever and however you like, I'm thinking a couple on the wall behind my dressing table will look super cute..

The 3D stickers come in three different colours, black red and cream, so depending on the colour scheme of your bedroom you can choose the most appropriate colour.

Born Pretty Makeup Review

Born Pretty is an online cosmetic company that sells an abundance of beauty products at discount prices. Usually the quality of products takes a hit when the price is so low but I was keen to see if this was the case.

Born Pretty asked me to pick any two products from their website to try, being a lover of liner I opted for two gel liners.

This first liner is this Leopard print 2 in 1 gel liner. The liner is made up of a cole liner which is great for daytime definition and a liquid liner which really compliments a smokey eye. Im not overly keen on the packaging but the reviews were really good so I thought I'd give it a try.

The cole liner is smooth so applies really well to the lash line, there's no need to use a sharpener as a twist mechanism releases the product.. Bonus! The gel liner applicator is like a felt tip pen, the size is just right meaning you don't have to apply multiple strokes to the eye to get a slick finish. The tip is firm which allows great precision when creating a cat eye.

This liner retails at $4.95

This product was delivered in 7 days from ordering which is quite impressive considering the products are made in China.

Preciseness: ✓
Waterproof: ✖

If you would like to purchase any of the Born Pretty Products they have kindly given me a discount code for my lovely followers!

Discount Code: FTH10

The next product I chose was this waterproof Gel Liner. The packaging really reminds me of the Topshop liners so at $6.52 I was excited to see if the quality compares.

This liner comes in ten different shades, I chose the black but will definitely be buying the other colours to try.

The brush of the liner is very slim so allows you to work the product closely between the lashes, It's jet black so gives strong definition. The liner is waterproof so lasted well for my 10 hour day at work.

Preciseness: ✓

I would definitely recommend these liners and am excited to try some other Born Pretty Products.

Born Pretty offers free international delivery on all its products with no minimum spend.

Benefit Porefessional Powder Review

For those of you who haven't heard about it yet, the Porefessional Powder is the new sister product for Benefit's hugely popular Porefessional Primer. I have to say I love the Porefesional primer, so I was excited to see what the powder version had to offer. It's a loose powder that claims not only to minimise pores, but to eliminate shine and leave the skin with an invisible, lightweight matte finish.

The Packaging is typical Benefit, fun and innovative. The built-in brush and compact dispenser makes it perfect for quick application but I can't help thinking the packaging looks and feels quite cheap, which is dissapointing considering the £23.50 price tag. The brush is soft but very small, so not something I would use in my day to day makeup routine.

Packaging aside the product itself is quite nice. The powders very light weight on the skin and doesnt have an overly matte finish. I can't say I'm sold on the poreminimising properties, it doesnt provide a dramatic minimising effect to the pores like the Porefessional but it does control shine for 5-6 hours.

Overall I think the Porefessional powder has some good benefits, it's relatively long lasting and blends well but I'm afraid im not sold. You get 7g for £23.50 so I was expecting the powder to be quite exceptional for the price.

If you're looking for a loose powder to keep in your bag for touchups and shine control, this product could well be for you.

Have you tried this yet? What do you think of the quality and price point?

You can buy the Benefit Porefessional Powder here.

Benefit Majorette Review - Booster Blush to Amplify your Flush

Introducing Majorette!

Benefit Cosmetics kindly sent me the new, highly anticipated Majorette Blusher.

Not usually one for cream blusher, I was pretty sceptical about this being 'The best cream blusher on the market' as some reviews are stating.

The Majorette cream blusher is designed to be worn on its own or under one of Benefit's Box O'
Powders. The packaging is typical Benefit, fun and eyecatching and is built into a solid plastic compact that's very handbag friendly, especially if like me, you've shattered countless powder compacts in your bag!

Benefit Majorette Blusher is actually a ‘booster blush’ which is designed to enhance the natural colour of your cheeks. The consistency is a smooth cream which blends well using the warmth of your fingers. The pigment is good and easy to build upon meaning you can create a natural dewy effect with a light application or a stronger flush to the cheeks if you reapply.

The blusher retails at a pretty eyewatering £23.50 for 7g.

I have to say, I'm very impressed with the Majorette blusher and would definitely recommend it.

8.5/10 possibly a 9/10 if there was more product for the price.

 Color Intensity: ✓
Long Lasting: ✓
Massively nostalgic and seriously yummy: ✓

Have you tried Benefit's Majorette blusher?

Exciting News!

...More nerve wracking than exciting actually!

For a long time I've been watching makeup tutorials on YouTube and wished I had the confidence to upload one.. For me one of the most interesting makeup videos to watch is the 'smokey eye'.

People have all kinds of interpretations of a smokey eye, some natural, some dramatic, but everyone has their own way of getting the end result.

Review: Label.m Conditioner

Hey guys, I hope you're all having a lovely weekend? Mine's been rather stressful so far due to car problems.. do I spend my money to get my car repaired or buy a new one?

Anyway, on to today's post..I am a massive fan of big hair and have been looking for a volumising shampoo or conditioner that actually works for quite some time. So when I was offered the opportunity to review a product for Label.m I jumped at the chance.

Label.m is a product range developed by Toni & Guy and consists of their ’4 c’s philosophy’ - Cleanse, Condition, Create and Complete.

Label.m kindly sent me one of their Thickening Conditioners to try, it's designed to volumize and thicken the hair with its rich and nourishing formula. The product smells delicious, it's not too overpowering and has a subtle citrusy scent.

Before using the Label.m conditioner                                    After using the Label.m conditioner

As I have such long hair, the weight of it generally means I lack volume and bounce. I hate the feel of backcombed hair and am sure it's far more damaging than people realise. So the idea of a product that can create a 'big hair' effect, was definitely on my 'to try' list.

Before using the Label.m conditioner                                             After using the Label.m conditioner

The Label.m conditioner retails at £12.95 for a generous 300ml bottle.

Although the Label.m range is more expensive than my usual shampoo & conditioner, it's had the desired effect so I definitely think it's worth the splurge!

Have you tried the Label.m range?

What a Lovely Week It's Been..

It’s Friday.. And there’s lots of exciting things happening.

Firstly, it’s a bank holiday weekend and I can’t wait for a cocktail tonight with the girls..

My new MacBook is being delivered tomorrow and I can’t wait to play with my new toy, although I’ve heard they’re quite confusing and hard to get used to.. Any tips?

I’ve also been asked to review products for two very prestigious Beauty Companies.. I’m so excited and can’t wait to try out some new products.. Of course I’ll be hosting another Giveaway so watch this space.. :)

As promised, here's a picture from last weekend of me wearing my River Island dress.

This picture has no relevance to my post but who needs an excuse to post a picture of their beautiful doggy?

Are you doing anything exciting this weekend? Fingers crossed we have good weather!

Celebrity Hot Spot

I thought I’d write a quick post on one of my favourite bar’s at the moment.. The Crazy Bear!

The Crazy Bear, Beaconsfield promises a delicious cocktail in beautiful quaint surroundings and has fast become one of my favourite places to visit with the girls on a Friday/ Saturday Night.

Unless you already know of the Crazy Bear, it’s unlikely you’ll stumble across it. I’ve walked past the entrance several times on nights out without even knowing it exists. The Bar isn’t well advertised and has a subtle entrance which is just a wooden front door. You won’t find bouncers outside or red carpets, it’s almost hidden to guarantee it’s exclusivity.

When I first visited the Crazy Bear with a friend, I was immediately drawn to the beautiful furnishings throughout. From the leave entwined staircase to French styled furniture, I fell in love from the word go.

The Courtyard

The cocktails are London prices, which I am happy to pay in such an exclusive, fancy bar.

On the few occasions I’ve visited the Crazy Bear, I’ve seen countless celebrities, from Made In Chelsea cast to Movie stars so it would be cruel not to share this place with my lovely readers.. right?

The bedrooms at the Crazy Bear are also very alluring

If you’re out on a budget but really want to visit this gorgeous bar, I would highly recommend going even if you just have a soft drink. It’s a really cool place to see and if you don’t have the funds to stretch to central London, Beaconsfield will promise a sophisticated night out, you could even visit the dance floor at Vodka Revs afterwards. ;)

Me and the girls last weekend in the Crazy Bear's mirrored bathrooms

Do you have any secret bar’s to recommend? Please share :)
