Urban Decay Naked 3 Review

Hey Everyone!

So this is my first blog.. I hope you enjoy!

So I’m basing my first ever blog on the super popular Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

I've read lots of mixed reviews on this palette so it would be doing a disservice to Urban Decay for me not to try it.. Right?

Just like Naked 2, Naked 3 comes with a synthetic dual ended brush (blending and flat) which are of a surprising quality and very easy to use. The packaging isn’t dissimilar to Naked 2, it's well made and tightly snaps shut (perfect when travelling in my handbag). The case is rose- gold metal with 'waves' indented across the lid.

Inside the tin are 12 brand new shadows and a large mirror.

The overall feel of the palette is definitely pink or 'rose gold'. The are 6 shades that are more of a pink tone and 5 that are more taupe. Although pinks and taupe’s can be hard to wear for some warm toned girls, the Taupe's are more of a golden brown making them slightly warmer on the skin. There are 4 glitter shadows, 2 of which have micro- glitter in the formula making them super glitzy! There are two pure matte shadows, one matte-satin and the rest are a combination of shimmer and satin.

I had some initial reservations about the seemingly pink-heavy palette. But on application, I realised that Naked 3 is as well developed as it’s Naked siblings. The eye shadows and highly pigmented, easily blended and most importantly, easy to use. Nine of the twelve shadows wear well for my 11-hour days at work without creasing or fading.

Darkside is my favourite shade, it is well pigmented but isn’t too frosted.

(Here's a picture of me wearing the Naked 3 Palette. Sorry the picture quality isn't great, it was taken seconds before driving. I'll be uploading a video to YouTube soon to show you how to create this look).

Dust was the worst performer which isn’t unexpected. It has a fair amount of glitter making it a difficult blend with disappointing gevity. When I next use this colour, I’ll apply it with a dampened brush for a smoother application.

As an overall palette I think this product will appeal to lots of people and skin tones. I'm happy Urban Decay haven’t made just another neutral eye palette too similar to its relatives Naked 1 & 2. Naked 3 has its own identity.

So would I recommend Naked 3? Absolutely.

  3. That's so good to hear! I have the naked 2 palette and it's honestly the love of my life. I didn't want to purchase the naked 3 in case it was a disappointment, but I think now it's definitely being added to the collection :)
